The investigative results of modulated pulse output from an LD end-pumped passively Q-switched intracavity-frequency-doubling Nd∶YVO4/KTP laser with Cr4+∶YAG saturable absorber are presented. The numerical stimulations of these modulated pulses are carried out basing on the rate equations. It indicated that the modulations are attribute to the frequency beating of two eigenstates of the resonant polarized modes. The theoretical calculations are in good agreement with the experimental observations.  相似文献

An alexandrite-laser rod was actively Q-switched in the transversal fundamental mode at λ = 758 nm with an double crystal KD*P Pockels cell. Pulse width, pulse energy and optical pulse delay (the build-up time of the photon field in the resonator) were measured as functions of pumping energy, rod temperature and reflectivity of the output coupling mirror. As the laser gain of alexandrite strongly depends on temperature, the pulse width and pulse energy were also investigated as functions of the temperature of the active material. A comparison of experimental data with theory was made.  相似文献

Passively Q-switched microchip lasers generate strongly pulsating intensity oscillations that emerge from a Hopf bifurcation point. We show that this bifurcation is nearly vertical and explain why strongly pulsating oscillations are immediately observed as we pass the Hopf bifurcation point. The laser dynamical problem is mathematically a singular perturbation problem which we investigate. The leading order problem is conservative and corresponds to Lotka–Volterra equations.  相似文献

用准连续60W的二极管激光列阵侧面泵浦“之”字形Nd:YAG板条激光器,当泵浦功率为45W,脉宽为400μs时,得到3.5mJ的激光输出。用KD*P电光开关调Q,得到18ns(FWHM)、2mJ的脉冲激光输出,用KTP晶体作腔内倍频,得到15ns、0.85mJ的二次谐波激光输出。在腔内无调Q元件且腔长小于5cm时,于近阈值处得到单频绿光输出,而当泵浦功率稍大,腔内有数个纵模振荡时,观察到激光的反相态,并用数值模拟的结果对此作了解释。  相似文献

We implement active feedback control in a Q-switched diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser by monitoring the fluorescence intensity from the laser crystal. When the initial inversion level indicated by the detected fluorescence has reached a predetermined value, Q-switching is initiated. The Q-switched pulse energy is stabler with our feedback scheme based on the fluorescence intensity than that with the conventional Q-switching when pumping source is not stable.  相似文献

Multi-mode rate equations have been developed to investigate mode competition in high-power acousto-optically Q-switched planar waveguide lasers. The mode competition arises from coupling effects and temporal losses in the transform between guided modes and free-space propagation. Pulse-to-pulse instability and temporal beam distortions are enlarged by mode competition when the laser works in the multi-mode regime. The influence of parasitic oscillation is also discussed. A Nd:YAG planar waveguide laser has been established with a folded hybrid/unstable resonator. A maximum average power of 83 W with a beam propagation factor is obtained. The theoretical simulation agrees well with the experimental observation.  相似文献

The Q-switched laser with triangle slab made of Nd:YAG crystal side pumped by 600-W quasi-cw diode laser stack has been designed. The multimode (M2≈2.6) output energy of about 42 mJ was demonstrated in free running mode for110-mJ pump energy. In Q-switch experiments, the KDDP Pockels cell was placed between the slab and rear mirror in plane-plane cavity with output coupler of 84% transmission. The energy of 8 mJ in 2.1-ns pulse duration was obtained for near TEM00 output beam. For passive Q-switching by means of Cr:YAG crystal of 12.6% unsaturated transmission, the energy of 5.1 mJ in 2.5-ns pulse duration was obtained for output beam close to TEM00 mode.  相似文献

A novel Nd, La:SrF_2 disordered crystal is prepared, and its continuous-wave wavelength tuning operation is performed for the first time. Employing a surface plasmon resonance(SPR) based gold nanobipyramids(G-NBPs) saturable absorber,we obtain a compact diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd, La:SrF_2 laser. The stable Q-switched pulse operates with the shortest pulse duration of 1.15 μs and the maximum repetition rate of 41 k Hz. The corresponding single pulse energy is 2.24 μJ. The results indicate that G-NBPs could be a promising saturable absorber applied to the diode-pumped solid state lasers(DPSSLs).  相似文献
